Must cut down the big plays

This is a takeaway that showed up against Tulane and was on full display against Boston College as this defense continues to struggle to stop the explosive plays.

On Thursday night, all of Boston College’s six touchdowns were scored on plays that were over 27 yards. They had three touchdown plays (AJ Dillon’s rushing touchdown, Jeff Smith’s touchdown reception, and Ben Glines touchdown reception) all were over 40 yards.

This comes after allowing two touchdown passes against Tulane in the first game of the season that went for over 50 yards.

This needs to be a point by the coaching staff ahead of next week’s game against Top 10 Notre Dame.
