Third down struggles

The Demon Deacons were an impressive 6 of 7 on fourth down conversions against Boston College on Thursday night. However, one of the reasons they had seven fourth downs was because they went 5 of 22 on third down.

This wasn’t something that necessarily played into the outcome of the game as Wake Forest still won the time of possession battle and the Eagles’ defense struggled to really stop this offense on the other downs.

This won’t always be the case and if this offense fails to extend drives, it will force the Wake Forest defense on the field more and cause them to tire out quickly.
