Cade Carney should be featured back

For the second straight game, the best running back in the Demon Deacons’ offense was Cade Carney. After running for 54 yards and one touchdown against Tulane, he led this offense with 130 rushing yards and one touchdown against Towson.

Carney has been the more effective and efficient running back in this offense, averaging 5.3 yards per carry on 35 carries. This is a yard and a half more than what Colburn is averaging this year with his 25 carries (3.8 yards per carry).

While Hartman has done a good job picking up yards when the play breaks down, the coaching staff will need to make sure they take pressure off him as the level of competition increases. If they are able to establish a run game with Carney, it should be able to make Hartman more effective.
