Wake Forest Football: Top takeaways from win over Towson
The Wake Forest football team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 51-20 victory over Towson. These are the top takeaways from the first home game of 2018.
One week after the Wake Forest football team escaped with an overtime win over Tulane, they made sure there was not as much drama this week. The Demon Deacons outscored Towson 37-6 over the final three quarters after being tied at 14.
This week’s game was the Greg Dortch Show as he had three touchdowns, two of which were punt returns for touchdowns, and over 300 all-purpose yards with 94 receiving, 85 kickoff return yards and 131 punt return yards.
However it was the play of Sam Hartman that once again was a bright spot for this team and gives them some optimism for the rest of the year. For the second straight week, Hartman made some exciting plays with 242 passing yards, an additional 64 rushing yards, with three total touchdowns.
The Demon Deacons may need this play to continue from Hartman if the defense continues to struggle. They gave up over 400 total yards to Towson and this has to be a concern with Boston College next on the schedule and one of the best running backs in college football, AJ Dillon.
These are the top takeaways from the Wake Forest football team’s win over Towson.
