Antonio Williams ran well when on the field

One of the bright spots for the UNC football team against East Carolina was the play of running back Antonio Williams. The transfer from Ohio State struggled in his first game with the team with only 47 rushing yards and his longest run going for only eight yards.

However, against ECU he had racked up 96 rushing yards on only six carries, including a 48-yard run on the second play of the game for the Tar Heels. He also had runs of 10 yards at the end of the first quarter then a run of 30 yards in the second quarter.

This is the type of performance fans hoped to see from Williams but it was cut short when he was ejected for a targeting penalty. This brings us to the next takeaway from Saturday’s game.
