The NC State football team moved to 2-0 with a 41-7 victory over Georgia State. These are the top takeaways from their second win of 2018.

The NC State football team was coming off a hard fought win against James Madison University and were hoping that wouldn’t be the case against Georgia State this weekend. However, the Panthers were able to strike first, going 75 yards on six plays to grab a 7-0 lead.

It was all Wolfpack from that point on as they went on to score 41 unanswered points over the remainder of the game to secure the win. Once again Ryan Finley put on a show with 370 passing yards, his second consecutive 300+ yard passing game, and two touchdown passes.

The wide receivers continue to impress in the early part of the season. In last week’s game against James Madison, it was Jakobi Meyers who was the leading receiver. However, Meyers sat out this week due to an ankle injury.

This presented freshman Thayer Thomas with an opportunity to see extended time out of the slot and finished with 9 receptions, 114 receiving yards and one touchdown. It was Kelvin Harmon though who led the team in receiving yards with 129.

These are the top takeaways from the NC State football team’s win over Georgia State.
