The Wake Forest football team will look to move to 2-0 with a win over Towson on Saturday. These are the key players to watch in this weekend’s game.

It wasn’t easy but the Wake Forest football team escaped Louisiana with a victory over Tulane in overtime. The Demon Deacons had plenty of questions entering this game as they tried to replace two of the best this school ever saw in quarterback John Wolford and tight end Cam Segrine.

The good news is that true freshman Sam Hartman had mixed reviews but at the end of the game had way more positives than negatives. He will look to build on that performance against Towson.

However, he will do it with a new offensive line as the team lost starting left tackle Justin Herron to a torn ACL. The coaching staff shifted players around against Tulane and moved Jake Benzinger from right tackle to left in place of Herron. They also moved starting right guard Nathan Gilliam to right tackle and had Patrick Osterhage step in at right guard.

The defense meanwhile will be looking for a statement game here as they gave up a few big plays against Tulane. Towson has a familiar name at quarterback in Tom Flacco, who is the younger brother of Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco.
