The NC State Football team survived against James Madison University and will hope to not let that happen against Georgia State. These are the key players that should have the biggest impact on the outcome.

Even though the NC State football team faced off with an FCS school, James Madison made sure they earned their win as they kept it close right up until the closing minutes of the game when the Wolfpack scored late to extend the lead to 24-13.

The Duke jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after the first quarter but the Wolfpack woke up in the second scoring 17 points to secure the lead and not give it up the rest of the game. The offense was led by Ryan Finley who finished with over 300 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Against the Dukes, Finley was locked in with Jakobi Meyers who finished with 14 receptions for 161 yards and was named one of the ACC Players of the Week.

Meanwhile, the defense did a good job locking down the Dukes’ offense and held them to only six points over the final three quarters. However, the one area this group struggled was slowing down the scrambling of quarterback Ben DiNucci, who averaged 5.9 yards per carry.

This is something the team will need to focus on as Georgia State has a mobile quarterback, Dan Ellington, who could find similar success.

These are the key players to watch for the NC State football team in this weekend’s game against Georgia State.
