The Carolina Panthers have released their first official injury report with good news for Week 1 against Dallas Cowboys.

It is hard to imagine after the first few weeks of training camp that the Carolina Panthers would feel good about their offensive line entering the upcoming season. The team was hit hard with a number of injuries to key players like Daryl Williams and Amini Silatolu.

However, the team’s first injury report gives them hope that Williams and Silatolu could both be available Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Both players were listed as questionable for this weekend’s game, according to Panthers’ reporter Bill Voth.

The bigger surprise is certainly Williams, who suffered a torn MCL and dislocated his patella in his right knee. However, the starting right tackle has had a great rehab and with no setbacks he was able to practice on a limited basis this week.

If he is ready to go, he will return to the starting lineup at right tackle. However, if he is ruled out then the team would likely turn to recently acquired Corey Robinson. The Panthers traded for Robinson last week with the Detroit Lions to provide depth at a position that desperately needed it.

After practice on Friday, Ron Rivera said that Robinson was “pretty much up to speed” according to Joe Person of The Athletic.

The news about Silatolu is also a promising one as he provides veteran depth across the offensive line. He was competing for the starting left guard position at the start of training camp but a knee injury of his own kept him out of it. The job eventually went to Greg Van Roten.

However, Silatolu has versatility across the offensive line as he can play both guard positions and even step in at right tackle if needed. He was considered for the starting job a few years ago however an injury at the time kept him out and the job eventually went to Mike Remmers.

The only player that was ruled out for Sunday’s game for the Carolina Panthers was wide receiver Curtis Samuel. The former second round pick had a procedure this week to address an irregular heartbeat that the team is being very cautious with.
