Panthers will lead NFL in rushing

This prediction ties into the previous one as the Carolina Panthers are in a position that they could finish the year leading the NFL in rushing yards.

This may not be as bold as some of the other predictions since the Panthers have primarily been a good running offense and have finished in the Top 10 each of the past four seasons.

This is due in part to the dynamic playmaker they have at quarterback in Cam Newton. The former first overall pick has averaged 617 rushing yards in the six seasons he has been in the NFL. Newton’s ability to not only scramble on broken plays but pick up yards on designed runs makes him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

This offense could give Newton even more room to run as they try to utilize a vertical passing game. This will keep secondaries back as they have to respect the pass and allow Newton to get down the field with less players in the box.

Fans should expect this offense to put up some impressive rushing totals this year.
