Run game carries Duke offense

Entering this game Army was expected to be the team that dominates on the ground but the Blue Devils’ offense did a great job in this part of the game. The team finished with 184 rushing yards with Brittain Brown leading the way with 75 and one rushing touchdown.

In addition to Brown, quarterback Daniel Jones and backup running back Deon Jackson had rushing touchdowns of their own.

The biggest positive, although it could have been an equal big negative, was the play of Deon Jackson. The reason Jackson saw extended playing time in the second half was because of a potentially serious knee injury for Brown.

The good news is that Dave Cutcliffe said Brown’s knee is structurally sound and they appear to have dodged a bullet here. However, Jackson showed he is more than capable of being the featured back in this offense.
