Moves along offensive line

There was plenty of questions entering this weekend about how the Carolina Panthers were going to approach the offensive line. The team has been ravaged with injury with three potential starters (Daryl Williams, Amini Silatolu, and Matt Kalil) all missing significant time due to injuries.

However, the positive that came from the team announcing the 53-man roster was none of those players were placed on injured reserve. This means they are confident that they could be back sooner rather than later.

The team did place one player on injured reserve, guard/tackle Jeremiah Sirles. The Panthers signed him as a free agent this offseason and he looked good in limited time in the third preseason game against the Patriots as the starting right tackle. He suffered a hamstring injury in that game that will now cost him a large portion of the season.

In addition to these moves, the Panthers traded for offensive tackle Corey Robinson. He is a seventh round pick by the Detroit Lions that has starting experience at right tackle. He provides experienced depth at a position that is desperate for it.
