The NC State football team begins their 2018 season against James Madison. These are the key players on the Wolfpack to watch in today’s game.

The NC State football team is a popular pick as a potential sleeper in the ACC this year. The Wolfpack won nine games last year, including a win over Arizona State in the Hyundai Sun Bowl.

However, this year they have their sights set on a trip to the ACC Championship Game. This would be the first time in school history they make that game but will need to get through Clemson and Florida State to reach it.

Those two games are later this year but their play today against James Madison can set the tone for how the 2018 season will go. While this is a game that the Wolfpack should win, the Dukes should not be taken lightly. They finished 14-1 last year and were playing for the FCS Championship at the end of the season.

While the confidence in the Wolfpack’s offense is still high due to players like Ryan Finley and this wide receiver group returning, the questions is on the defensive side of the ball. The team is replacing eight starters, including the entire defensive line. This will be a good opening test for this group.

These are the key players for the NC State football team to watch in their season opener against James Madison.
