Game 1: vs. James Madison (9/1)

The 2018 season starts with a home game against the James Madison Dukes. This FCS team made it all the way to the championship game last year and finished 14-1. This is certainly not a team that should be taken lightly and could end up being a major upset if the Wolfpack aren’t careful. However, the veteran leadership of Ryan Finley will keep the team focused and they secure the first win of the season.

Prediction: Win (1-0)

Game 2: vs. Georgia State (9/8)

Similarly to the first game, this is one that the NC State football team should be heavily favored. Georgia State did finish last year with a winning record but the talent level is just not on the same level as the Wolfpack. They should move to 2-0 with ease in this game.

Prediction: Win (2-0)

Game 3: vs. #18 West Virginia (9/15)

This will be the Wolfpack’s first real test of the 2018 season and should give a good indication what direction this team is going. This game will showcase two of the top quarterbacks in college football with Finley and West Viriginia’s Will Grier. This will likely not be a defensive struggle and the Mountaineers have a little too much talent on the offense and hand the Wolfpack their first loss of the season.

Prediction: Loss (2-1)
