These are the top four players to watch on the Wake Forest football team against Tulane in the first game of the 2018 season.

The 2018 season is finally here and the Wake Forest football team will be kicking off the season in Louisiana against the Tulane Green Wave.

While the team returns most of their offense from a season ago, an offense that was one of the best in the ACC, it is hard to imagine they will have the same results. This is due to the team losing two of the best the school has ever seen in quarterback John Wolford and tight end Cam Segrine.

They have replaced Wolford, who was a four-year starter, with true freshman Sam Hartman and the team’s success in the early part of the season appears it will be strongly correlated to his ability to lead this group.

The defensive side of the ball lost a key piece to their defense as well with defensive end Duke Ejiofor heading to the NFL after last season. He is replaced by Boogie Basham, who similarly to Hartman, will have big shoes to fill.

These are the four players that Demon Deacons’ fans should keep an eye on Thursday night against Tulane.
