Brittain Brown

The Blue Devils’ run game belongs to Brittain Brown now. The explosive running back split time with Shaun Wilson last season and finished with 701 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Wilson graduated after the 2017 season and Brown is expected to get the majority of the carries this year.

This game against Army presents a good opportunity for Brown to get off to a fast start as they finished 65th in FBS last year against run, allowing 165.6 yards per game on the ground.

This also could be a game that Dave Cutcliffe relies more on Brown as a way to control the clock. The Black Knights with how much they utilize the run game presents a situation where the defense could be on the field more than most games.

If the Blue Devils offense is able to stay on the field, it should give the defense extra rest and hopefully keep them fresh throughout the game.
