Game 1: vs. Army (8/31)

The Duke football team kicks off their 2018 season with the last team they lost to last year. The last game of the six game losing streak was against this Army team and they lost by a final score of 21-16. However, this was a game that the Blue Devils beat themselves with a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown as well as a Daniel Jones’ fumble. The Blue Devils should correct the mistakes from last year and start the year off with a win.

Prediction: Win (1-0)

Game 2: at Northwestern (9/8)

The outcome of this game could be determined by whether or not the Wildcats have their quarterback, Clayton Thorson, who is trying to return from a torn ACL. He is questionable to start the year and even if he plays he likely will not be 100%. This should be enough for the Blue Devils to secure their first big win of the 2018 season.

Prediction: Win (2-0)

Game 3: at Baylor (9/15)

The Baylor Bears are coming off a 1-11 season and one of those losses was to Duke in the early part of the season by a final score of 34-20. This is the second year for head coach Matt Rhule and this team should be a little bit more improved. The improvement, combined with the fact that his is a road game, will likely have the final score be a little closer than last year but this is a game that Brittain Brown could take over and help the Blue Devils to move to 3-0.

Prediction: Win (3-0)
