Daeshon Hall/Bryan Cox Jr.

The one battle that there is not a clear front-runner has to be for that final defensive end position between Bryan Cox Jr. and Daeshon Hall. The reason is that neither player has really distinguished themselves this preseason.

It would seem that Daeshon Hall would be safe since he is only entering his second season and the Panthers did use a third round pick on him last year. The expectation was that Hall would be able to have more impact as a speed or situational rusher in this defense. However, that has not translated to the game this preseason and he only has two tackles through the first three games.

Meanwhile, Bryan Cox Jr. hasn’t been much better with only four tackles through three games. However, he did contribute for this defense during the regular season last year and appeared in seven games.

The decision for that final spot on the 53-man roster at defensive end could be decided in this final preseason game for the Carolina Panthers.
