Elijah Hood

In past seasons, the Carolina Panthers have carried four running backs on their 53-man roster which bodes well for Cameron Artis-Payne. He has looked good this preseason and should be safe.

This final battle will likely come down to Elijah Hood and Kenjon Barner, two free agents added this offseason. Right now Barner would appear to have the edge due to his ability to contribute in more area than Hood as he has experience on special teams.

In addition, Barner has the better rushing numbers this preseason with 77 rushing yards on nine carries while Hood has 11 rushing yards on nine carries as well.

This is one battle that is not yet solidified and a good game from Hood could be enough to swing it back in his favor.
