NC State does not improve win total from 2017

Unfortunately for Wolfpack fans that were hoping for a special season in 2018, it doesn’t appear to be in the cards.

The NC State football team has a brutal schedule and was even ranked as the ninth toughest by Kyle Kensing of Athlon Sports. This does not bode well for a team that will be breaking in a majority of new starters on the defensive side of the ball.

The early test for this team will come in Week 3 when they face West Virginia, who is currently ranked 17th, and their high powered offense led by quarterback Will Grier.

The conference schedule also didn’t do the Wolfpack any favors with home game against Boston College followed by a trip to Death Valley to face Clemson. Then two weeks after that they welcome Florida State and Wake Forest in a five day span.

If NC State makes it to the ACC Championship Game, there is no question they will have earned it. However, that second half of the schedule may be too much for them to overcome.
