Wake Forest will have three quarterbacks start this year

The question of who will be starting at quarterback for the Wake Forest football team is not one Dave Clawson has had to worry about last year. This season is a different story and it likely means the Demon Deacons will start three quarterbacks this season.

They are entering the year with Hartman as their starting quarterback, who was competing with Jamie Newman this summer. These two were only in competition because Kendall Hinton was suspended to start the year for violating team rules.

It remains to be seen how much Newman’s injury suffered during the second scrimmage played a role in Hartman winning the job. However, being so close to the first game against Tulane it certainly didn’t help.

The fact that Newman and Hartman were so close throughout the summer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Clawson give Newman a start before Kendall Hinton returns, who is the best option of the three.
