How does C.J. Anderson fit with first team?
With only one preseason game left, this is certainly a valid question to ask. Especially because Anderson saw no work with the first team against the New England Patriots. He actually didn’t get his first carry until there was about two minutes left in the third quarter.
It is interesting to see that McCaffrey has received almost the entire workload with the first team this preseason. In the third preseason game against the Patriots, he had 12 carries and two receptions in the first half.
While the coaching staff did say they wanted McCaffrey to get between 25-30 touches per game, this seemed to be a bit of an exaggeration. However, at this point in the preseason it seems Rivera may have been truthful with that prediction.
If McCaffrey does get that much work, how much is left for C.J. Anderson? This will be an interesting storyline to watch in the early part of the regular season.
