Breakout Player of the Year

Winner: Germaine Pratt

The redshirt senior had a bounce back year last year after missing the entire 2016 season due to shoulder surgery. It was impressive the season Pratt had due to the fact that he was coming back from injury and changed positions from safety to linebacker.

According to team’s site, Pratt was the fourth leading tackler for the Wolfpack and was the first defender since 2011 to score two touchdowns in a season.

Fast forward to this year and Pratt will not only be stepping into a starting role but also a leadership one. He was recently named one of the four captains for the upcoming season.

The increased playing time should give Pratt a chance to have a career year for the NC State football team.
