X-Factor

Winner: Nathan Elliott

There is no question that the biggest factor to the UNC football team’s success this upcoming season is the quarterback position, and specifically Nathan Elliott.

Elliott was entering this year expecting to compete with Chazz Surratt for the starting job, however as previously mentioned Surratt will be suspended for the first four games. This means that Elliott has a chance to start the year as the starter and with his play potentially keep the job.

The junior ended last season starting the final three games of the year, going 2-1 as a starter. In those games he threw eight touchdowns to only two interceptions.

The Tar Heels has the potential to be a decent offense in 2018 with players like Anthony Ratliff-Williams and Antonio Williams. However, it will be up to Elliott to lead this group and put the offense in position to be successful.
