Stock Up: Kenjon Barner

The battle for that third running back spot behind McCaffrey and C.J. Anderson is up for grabs between Cameron Artis-Payne, Elijah Hood and Kenjon Barner. After the second preseason game, Barner may have moved slightly ahead of the other two.

Barner finished the game against the Dolphins with 72 rushing yards, showing his explosive ability with a 27-yard run in the second half.

It is interesting to see Barner back with the Carolina Panthers and playing well. He was drafted by the Panthers in 2013 and after two stops with the Philadelphia Eagles and one with the LA Chargers, he returned to his original team.

If Barner continues to show this explosive play ability, plus the value he provides on special teams as a returner, he has a good chance of winning that final spot on the running back depth chart.
