Start Jeremiah Sirles at Right Tackle

Starters: Taylor Moton (LT), Greg Van Roten (LG), Ryan Kalil (C), Trai Turner (RG), Jeremiah Sirles (RT)

The most likely scenario for the Carolina Panthers if Matt Kalil misses extended playing time will be to shift Taylor Moton over to left tackle and start Jeremiah Sirles at right tackle.

Sirles was a free agent signing by the Panthers this offseason after spending the past three years with the Minnesota Vikings. The 26-year old primarily played left guard last year but in 2016 started nine games at right tackle. He also has experience playing in Norv Turner’s offense.

The biggest disappointment with this lineup, along with the previous one, is that this will move Taylor Moton from right tackle, a position he has played very well this training camp. The second-year tackle stepped in for Daryl Williams and has been a consistent presence next to Trai Turner.

However, with the options limited and the depth tested, this lineup will likely give the Panthers the best chance at slowing down opponent’s pass rush and opening running lanes for this run game.
