Donte Jackson targeted early

It seemed like the Buffalo Bills just sent over their game plan to the Miami Dolphins as for the second consecutive week the opposing offense came out and targeted the left side of the field consistently.

However, this time it was rookie Donte Jackson starting instead of Kevon Seymour, who got the start last week against the Bills. Jackson finished the game with three total tackles, including a great open field tackle on third down to end the opening drive for the Dolphins.

It is worth noting that while Jackson did give up a few receptions, he seemed to be playing far off the line of scrimmage. It will be interesting if Ron Rivera and the coaching staff give a reasoning behind this. Jackson does have the speed to keep up with NFL wide receivers so the cushion wouldn’t necessarily be important.

However, the performance against the Dolphins was promising for Jackson. He should remain the starter for the rest of preseason and Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
