Greg Olsen

In the first preseason game against the Bills, Cam Newton connected with five different players. However, one of the players not in that group was tight end Greg Olsen even though he had two passes thrown in his direction.

The three time Pro Bowler is coming off a disappointing season, due in large part to a broken foot suffered in the second game of the season. He finished the year with 17 receptions, 191 receiving yards and one touchdown. Prior to 2017 though, Olsen was one of the best tight ends in the game with three consecutive years with over 1,000 receiving yards.

This training camp, Olsen looked like he did before 2017 and according to Charlotte Observer’s Joe Person “Olsen ran fluidly throughout camp, got open and caught most everything thrown at him.”

It will be worth watching how Olsen moves running routes and if he receives a few more targets against the Dolphins.
