Duke Football: 2018 Preseason Awards
These are the preseason awards for the Duke football team for the upcoming 2018 season.
Last year it seemed like the Duke football team had three separate seasons rolled into one. The Blue Devils got off to a fast start winning their first four games. However, they were not able to sustain that success and lost their next six games.
They were able to right the ship just in time winning their last two games to earn a trip to the Quick Lane Bowl, where they won 36-14 over Northern Illinois.
This Duke football team should be able to build off their success at the end of last season with a number of key players coming back this year. This group is led by quarterback Daniel Jones, who will be entering his third season as the team’s starter. However, Jones has a number of playmakers around him at running back and wide receiver.
Meanwhile on defense it will be linebacker Joe Giles-Harris and cornerback Mark Gilbert that will set the tone for this group this coming season. There is no question that the performance of these two will have a strong correlation to this units success in 2018.
