Who starts at left guard?

The other position battle of note is at left guard and an unlikely name has seemingly emerged as the favorite. The Panthers entered training camp with what seemed five or six players vying for that starting job.

However, the injury to Daryl Williams took second-year player Taylor Moton out of the running as he stepped in at right tackle. Then veteran Amini Silatolu suffered a torn meniscus and will be evaluated on a weekly basis.

The battle has now come down to two players: Brendan Mahon and Greg Van Roten. Mahon, an undrafted rookie out of Penn State, was expected to get the start against the Bills. However, it ended up being Van Roten that got the start.

It will be worth watching which player starts the game and could give fans an indication on who has the upper hand in this training camp battle.
