Torrey Smith
While the Panthers may not need to cut Smith, and it isn’t necessarily likely at this point, it wouldn’t be surprising if the team decided to go in another direction at the wide receiver position.
The wide receiver position is one of the deepest on the Carolina Panthers’ roster with Devin Funchess, D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel, Damiere Byrd, and Jarius Wright, who has been a pleasant surprise this summer. The coaching staff will need to decide if they want a veteran like Smith or go with a younger player like Mose Frazier or Austin Duke.
The other thing working against Smith is that the Panthers could cut Smith and save $5,000,000 on their salary cap, according to Spotrac, with no dead cap.

The release of Smith would easily be the most shocking cut for the Panthers but there is a case that could certainly be made.
