Kevon Seymour

It is hard to imagine but the veteran cornerback could go from projected to starter to cut before the start of the regular season. Kevon Seymour split time at cornerback last year with Daryl Worley and seemed to have an edge over Ross Cockrell and Donte Jackson entering training camp.

However, the impressive performance of the rookie Jackson and Seymour disappointing showing against the Bills puts him squarely on the bubble.

While Seymour’s chances of starting are essentially gone, there is a chance he could still make the roster due to Cockrell suffering a broken leg. The depth at cornerback, especially veteran depth, is very thin with Captain Munnerlyn the only seasoned veteran.

This could be enough to keep Seymour around but if a veteran cornerback is cut by another team prior to the season that the Panthers want to sign, Seymour could be the odd man out.
