at San Antonio Spurs (January 14th)

Another game that will have significant meeting to members of the Charlotte Hornets organization will be in January, when the team travels to San Antonio to play the Spurs.

First-year head coach James Borrego spent over ten years over two different stints since 2003 with the Spurs organization. He was an assistant head coach under Gregg Popovich and won two NBA Finals with the Spurs.

In addition to Borrego, the Hornets added Tony Parker in the offseason. The veteran point guard had spent his entire 17 year career with the Spurs prior to joining the Hornets. While he may no longer be the All-Star point guard he was earlier in his career, this is one game he would still like to prove he has something left in the tank.
