There is no question that the running back position is the strength of the offense for UNC Football this year. These are our projections for the stats for the top three running backs on this team.

Last year, the UNC Football team finished second to last in the ACC in rushing yards game with just over 144.3 yards per game. However, there is no question that the running back position is the strength of this Tar Heels offense.

They are bringing back their top two running backs with Jordan Brown and Michael Carter. These two accounted for only 55% of the team’s carries (235) last year but 68% of the team’s rushing yards (1,171) and 71% of the rushing touchdowns (12).

There is no question that these two once again will play key roles in this Tar Heel offense but the team added a third running back this offseason that can impact how the carries will be divided.

The NCAA announced last month that Antonio Williams would be eligible to play this season after transferring from Ohio State.

This means Larry Fedora must now figure out the best way to divide the work up at the running back position while keeping all three talented backs involved in the gameplan.

These are our projected stats for the 2018 for the running backs on the UNC Football team.
