These are the key players to watch on the Carolina Panthers when they face the Buffalo Bills in their first preseason game of the year.

The Carolina Panthers have spent roughly the past three weeks in training camp preparing for the upcoming season. However, the players will finally get a chance for live action as they face the Buffalo Bills in the first preseason game.

These preseason games are pivotal for the players as some try to work off rust from the offseason, while others try to move up the depth chart or even are fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster.

This first preseason game, aside from the last, will be a time for the reserve players to see extended playing time. That is because the Carolina Panthers, like most teams, are likely to limit the amount of playing time for their starters to only a series or two in hopes of avoiding possible injuries to key players.

This game against the Bills the focus will be on those reserve players. These key players are either rookies looking to make an impact in their first live NFL action or veterans trying to prove they belong on the Carolina Panthers 53-man roster.
