4. Thomas Davis

Starting off the list is linebacker Thomas Davis, who will be playing his final season in the NFL this year. At the end of the 2018 season, Davis will have played all 14 seasons in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers. The team selected Davis in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft and he will go down as one of the Carolina Panthers’ all-time greats.

He currently holds the Panthers’ franchise record in total tackles with 1,017 and has earned three Pro Bowls appearances, each of the past three years. He has embodied the Panthers’ mantra of ‘Keep Pounding’ after overcoming three ACL injuries earlier in his career.

While there is no question where Davis ranks in Panthers’ history, he would seem to be a long shot at earning a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The years dealing with the ACL injuries limited his impact on the game and his stats. He also did not earn any individual awards during his NFL career, which will hurt his chances.
