Trade for an offensive tackle

This is the least likely of the options to address the right tackle position but it is certainly one of them. If Williams is not able to come back as quickly as first thought, or this becomes a season ending injury, the Panthers may want to trade for a tackle. However, this would mean having to trade something of value or draft capital.

If the team did decide to go this route, it would likely not be for a big name or even a starter. The team would probably target a player with a high ceiling or potential that hasn’t been reached yet.

One player that comes to mind is Colts’ tackle Le’Raven Clark. The former Texas Tech Red Raider was a third round pick for the Colts in 2016 and has started eight games over the past two seasons. However, he has fallen down the depth chart, especially with the signing of free agent Austin Howard.

At only 25 years of age, the Colts may not be willing to cut the tackle but may be interested in moving him if they were to get a late round pick in return.

While the prognosis was good for Daryl Williams, the Carolina Panthers will likely weigh all options. If the team wants to add some experience at the position, they will likely be adding to the position in the coming days.
