The Carolina Panthers had their starting right tackle Daryl Williams go down with a knee injury in practice Saturday. The question now is how do they replace him?

The Carolina Panthers were hit with their first significant injury of the year when starting right tackle Daryl Williams went down with a right knee injury. After testing, the diagnosis was dislocated patella and a torn medial collateral tendon (MCL) in the knee, according to ESPN’s David Newton.

While the injury is a major blow to this offense, it could have been much worse. The good news is that Williams has not been ruled out for the year and will begin a rehabilitation schedule. While no timetable has been given Newton did mention that this injury typically takes about six weeks to heal.

This means Williams could potentially be back in the lineup for the season opener. However, with an early bye week this season, in Week 4, the team may be cautious with the right tackle and keep him out until after the bye.

This injury regardless means the coaching staff and front office will need to make some decisions over the next few days to determine how to handle this injury. These are the potential options to replacing Daryl Williams in the Carolina Panthers offense.
