The Duke basketball team finalized their non-conference schedule, highlighted with a season opener against the Kentucky Wildcats.

After having three players selected in the first 20 picks of the NBA Draft, the Duke basketball team is reloaded and entering this season with high expectations. Star freshmen Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, Tre Jones and Cam Reddish will be looking to improve on the Blue Devils’ Elite Eight finish in last year’s March Madness.

There will be no honeymoon period for these freshmen as they will have a high profile matchup right from the start with the Kentucky Wildcats in the State Farm Champions Classic in Indianapolis. This game in Indianapolis will open the season for the Duke Blue Devils and be an early test to see just how good they are, and can be.

The Blue Devils will play their first home game at Cameron Indoor against Army, a program Coach K knows well playing there as well as receiving his first head coaching job in 1975. Then after a game against Eastern Michigan, the Duke basketball team will travel west to the Maui Invitational where they will face San Diego State.

The next test big test for this team will come at the end of November when the Blue Devils face off against the Indiana Hoosiers at Cameron Indoor in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. This will be Archie Miller’s second year as head coach and he will be looking to improve on his team’s 16-15 record last year.

Aside from the first game against the Kentucky Wildcat, the biggest non-conference game will be towards the end of December when the Blue Devils face off against Texas Tech. The Red Raiders reached the Elite Eight last year and are hoping to build off a 27-10 record.
