Secondary

Starters: James Bradberry (CB), Mike Adams (S), Da’Norris Searcy (S), Kevon Seymour (CB), Captain Munnerlyn (Nickel)

Bench: Donte Jackson (CB), Ross Cockrell (CB), Corn Elder (CB), Rashaan Gaulden (S), Demetrious Cox (S)

The Carolina Panthers’ secondary has a number of moving parts entering training camp, with really only James Bradberry and Mike Adams’ roles defined in this defense. The other starting safety job will likely be a battle between free agent signing Da’Norris Searcy and third round draft pick Rashaan Gaulden. The veteran gets the nod here but it would not be surprising to see the rookie eventually win the starting job at some point this season.

The other cornerback position is anybody’s guess at this point and will be a battle between Kevon Seymour, Donte Jackson and Ross Cockrell. However, as Bill Voth has mentioned this offseason, the Panthers may not make any of these players official starters. The team likes the different skill sets that each player brings and depending on the matchup could determine who starts that week.
