NC State Football: Harmon, Finley named to All-ACC Preseason Team
NC State football had two players on their offense named to the Preseason All-ACC team.
The day after announcing the preseason predictions for how NC State football would finish in the ACC, the preseason individual awards were announced. The Wolfpack had two players on their offense named with quarterback Ryan Finley and wide receiver Kelvin Harmon.
Finley also finished third in the voting for ACC Preseason Player of the Year Award. He finished eight votes behind Boston College running back AJ Dillon.
This is not new for the redshirt senior as he has been recognized with a number of preseason awards, including being named to the Maxwell Award watch list. Finley is coming off a season where he threw for over 3,500 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and six interceptions.
In addition to Finley, his favorite target, Kelvin Harmon also made the Preseason All-ACC team. He finished with the second most votes at the wide receiver position. The junior is coming off a breakout season, one where he caught 69 passes, 1,017 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
The Wolfpack are expected to have one of the best offenses in the conference and it is due in large part to these two players. Both players are considered first-round talent in the NFL and earlier this year both made CBS Sports’ Will Brinson mock draft.
Harmon was picked to go 13th overall to the Arizona Cardinals and Finley was slotted to go seven picks later to the Los Angeles Chargers. While mock drafts this early are unrealistic, the message is clear. These are two players who are some of the best in college football.
Next: Finley has sights set on ACC Championship
If this NC State football team hopes to make it to the ACC Championship Game, it will be due in large part to Finley and Harmon’s performance this year.
