Who starts opposite James Bradberry?

One of the toughest training camp battles will be at cornerback and for the job opposite James Bradberry. The Panthers traded away last year’s starter, Daryl Worley, to the Philadelphia Eagles for wide receiver Torrey Smith.

The starting cornerback spot is now up for grabs and will be between Kevon Seymour, free agent signing Ross Cockrell and third round pick Donte Jackson.

The answer to the question of who starts opposite Bradberry may be all of them.

According to Bill Voth of Panthers.com, the Panthers will likely look to a rotation of the three depending on the matchup.

"With that said, we have to remember what the Panthers plan to do with their corners this year. They purposefully brought in complementary parts to mix and match based on matchups. So I don’t think we’re going to see a traditional setup where two corners get 100 percent of the snaps. James Bradberry will, but the other outside slot should be a rotation featuring Jackson, Seymour and Ross Cockrell. Again, it will all depend on matchups."

The idea of rotating the cornerbacks and playing the one that matchups best with the wide receiver is an interesting one. The reps of the three players during training camp is worth watching and seeing if one separates themselves from the rest and forces the coaches to change the game plan heading into the season.
