These are the top free agents available that would make sense for the Carolina Panthers to be interested in.

The Carolina Panthers roster is pretty well set at this point however there is always room for improvement. It is almost a certainty that every NFL team will be faced with injuries during the season and the depth at the position will determine their success.

The challenge for most NFL teams is at this point in the offseason the talent pool in free agency is thin. Fortunately for the Panthers, the positions their depth, or even the player penciled as starter, is questionable there are a number of players available that can help immediately.

The biggest concerns on the Panthers’ roster lies at safety, linebacker, tight end and left tackle.

The question is whether or not the general Marty Hurney is able to sign players to address these needs and stay under the salary cap. According to Spotrac, the Panthers have just under $2.5 million cap space available.  While this isn’t a lot of money, this is the time of year teams can find real value and may be able to sign an impact player or two.
