Left Guard

Jeremiah Sirles vs. Amini Silatolu vs. Taylor Moton

Another key battle will be on the offensive line at left guard. The team will be looking to replacing former All-Pro Andrew Norwell, who left for the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency.

The Panthers did bring in free agent Jeremiah Sirles, however he seems to be more of a backup than a starter. Sirles will be competing with Amini Silatolu, who was a second round pick of the Panthers in 2011. The biggest hurdle for the veteran will be if he is able to stay healthy. In his six year career, he has never played all sixteen games.

The wild card in this group is Taylor Moton. The former Western Michigan lineman projected as a guard leading up to the NFL Draft last year but the Panthers have seen him primarily as a tackle. The path to starting though for Moton would seemingly go through guard with the emergence of Daryl Williams last year.

This is one battle that seems will likely run all the way through the final preseason game.
