Week 1: at Cal

The one thing that will be important for the Tar Heels will be to get off to a fast start. As mentioned previously, they lost eight of their first nine games last year. This included a 35-30 loss to this very team in the first game of last season.

The most important question entering this game, and one that is hopefully answered emphatically, will be who is the starting quarterback? The competition will be between Chazz Surratt or Nathan Elliot and a win over Cal on the road should help set the tone for the upcoming season.
