New Orleans Saints 34, Carolina Panthers 13

The best defense in the NFL against the worst defense in the NFL. Surely after a strong start, the Panthers would continue with that momentum and open divisional play with a win, right? RIGHT??

Drew Brees completed 22 of 29 passes for 220 yards for three touchdowns, one of which to former Carolina wideout Ted Ginn Jr., as the New Orleans Saints cruised away with the 21-point victory.

Newton’s performance against New Orleans was shoddy as the Saints sacked him four times and picked him off three times. However, he did complete 17 of 26 pass attempts for 167 yards and rushed for 16 yards on three carries including a three-yard scamper for Carolina’s lone touchdown of the game in the third quarter.

McCaffrey passed the century mark in receiving yards against New Orleans with 101 on nine catches. However, he only rushed the ball four times and gained 16 yards while Stewart carried the ball 12 times for 57 yards.
