  1. The Old Nemesis wants Derek BarnettPanthers get No. 20, No. 51, No. 82, and No. 203 from the Denver Broncos for No. 8 and No. 152

More from Old North Banter

I have a hunch. The hunch is that the Denver Broncos know the upper crust of the first round has some good rush end types and they will miss out at twenty. DeMarcus Ware just retired. They could use another 3-4 outside linebacker and that is where Barnett comes. A little smaller than your normal every down end, Barnett is the perfect size for 3-4 schemes.

In return, the Panthers land at twenty and take the player I think they really need: Wisconsin’s Ramcyzk at right tackle. The also get an additional second rounder and a third rounder that is much nicer than their own third round pick (which they still have in this scenario).

The deeper from which teams try to move up, the crazier the deals will tend to look. In real life, future draft picks would also be on the table.
