  1. The Jacksonville Denial – Panthers trade up to three to get Leonard Fournette

The mock draft boards are starting to be populated with more and more Leonard Fournette to the Jaguars at four predictions. Fournette is a great fit into the Panthers backfield. However there are alternatives that are almost as valuable if he goes earlier. If the Panthers did want to get anyway, it would mean a trade with the Bears.

The Bears are a team that needs lots of help. They grabbed Mike Glennon, so they don’t need a starting quarterback this instant in this first round. Filling out the roster with picks makes much more sense. The third pick in the draft carries a value of 2200 points.

That means the Panthers would not be selling out their entire draft and a future pick to make this happen. It does mean the Panthers would selling the most meaningful parts of it, though. It would take the 8th, 40th, 64th, and 152nd picks (1 first, 2 seconds, and a fifth) to complete.

The Panthers seem committed to the depth of this draft. If Fournette is not there, I doubt that the team would be overly concerned enough to not draft Dalvin Cook or Christian McCaffrey instead. You can see how quickly the value of each first rounder drops though.
