Charlotte Hornets Top Ten Draft Picks Ever 2.0
Number 4: Kemba Walker
Drafted: 2011
Pick: 1st Round, 10th Pick
Walker was like Okafor in that he came from a UConn team that had just won the title. He had practically carried them to get there too. He also was the first point guard with any sort of expectations since Felton. So far Walker has lived up to those expectations. The team has grown up around him too.
Walker was here for the 7-59 season when playing for the Bobcats was a toil. He also was drafted after Bismack Biyombo in the 2011 Draft. Since that first season, Walker has been the starting point guard. As such he became the second starting point guard to make the playoffs for the Bobcats.
The rebranding of the Bobcats as the Hornets has not changed Walker’s minutes or production. He continues to be a key piece for the playoff-hungry Hornets. He averages about seventeen points and five assists per game. Whenever the Hornets need a big shot, it is Walker that will uncork one.
Walker’s position on this list is open to change since he could carry the Hornets to playoff success or suffer some sort of collapse that might put him back behind Okafor.
In 2016-7, Walker upped his game even further with an All-Star appearance. He will climb over the next guy in this rating with just a tiny bit of playoffs success.
