  1. Jonathan Isaac, Florida State

Isaac would represent a longer term plan to using the draft pick. The athletic freshman from FSU is 6’10” 210 pounds. He needs to put on weight (muscle, more accurately), but this is the answer to Hornets’ problem at the power forward position. Marvin Williams will not play forever and this would be a real replacement plan to continue that stretch four idea.

Isaac could fill that niche that the Hornets desperately need with Frank Kaminsky. Kaminsky could guard the centers on defense while Isaac matched up with the fours. On offense, Kaminsky could leak out and the lane would be open for Isaac or other cutters. Eventually Isaac could develop a pro three point shot of his own.

He also fits well with the idea of long defenders. Coach Steve Clifford might even try out a bigger defensive lineup at times when Walker sits consisting of Batum, Kidd-Gilchrist, Isaac, Williams, and Zeller. More flexibility couldn’t hurt since the options off the bench for the Hornets are shooters first and maybe defenders third or fourth.
